About Buglet Solar...
Buglet Solar Electric Installation grew out of careers in aerospace, custom bicycle engineering, journalism and activism—not to mention an odd little nickname.
We’re a small, community-based business with roots going back more than four decades in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Owners Bart Sheldrake and Whitney Painter are invested in Colorado, and in utilizing our planet’s natural resources in the most efficient ways possible.
Bart Sheldrake is a certified installer by the
Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (CoSEIA).
.
What the heck does “Buglet” mean, anyway?!
Bart named Buglet Solar after the childhood nickname given to Whitney by her mother, Stephanie. According to Stephanie, “I couldn’t help it; she was cute as a little bug!”
In naming the company, Bart connected this family nickname with Buglet Solar’s mission to improve the human condition through renewable energy.
Because our planet’s precious bug populations underpin their ecosystems, the welfare of bugs provides a barometer of ecological health. Buglet Solar is always striving to build enough solar energy to make more bugs—and along with them, our entire planet—a little more healthy and happy.
